Meanwhile, back at the gray inter-dimensional dungeon Simp feels a stabbing pain in his side. Yes, that's right, he had been struck by a spear wielded by one of the vegepygmies. The last thing he remembers was slipping into unconsciousness as he once again cursed his luck where Soul Stabber is concerned. Surely he must be waking up, lovingly tended by his comrades. The pain is sharper now, his vision stays troubling out of focus and gray, as if he is staring through a fog and into a dream.
He feels his goddess, Ysanna speaking into his mind, though he can not hear individual words. Her sorrow and need make him feel more empty than the space between the stars. She commands him to seek out Soul Stabber and shatter his blade on her altar. This will destroy the sword and free up the gem in its hilt. Simp is then to offer up the gem to Ysanna. Depressed at being denied eternal sleep, Simp wakes with a shocking start. Pain riddles his side. Though feeling full of vigor, the wound on his side is still seeping as though from a freshly packed wound. No amount of healing changes this.
Looking around, he seems a half dozen bodies of comrades who had died before him now alive and well. Including the future warrior, Ursu. This being the second time he was raised from the dead. Apparently, Ysanna really wants that stone and has raised these people to aid her quest as well. They look to Simp eagerly for his support and guidance. Clearly, these will be easy converts for Ysanna.
After a few more adventures, the resurrected group make their way home as well.
